Quick answer: In the first 90 days with a social media manager, an Aurora business should get an audit and cleanup in month one, about 12 finished posts a month plus weekly Google Business Profile posts in month two, and a first real report in month three. Expect a consistent, active presence by day 90, not a flood of leads.
Here is exactly how I run the first 90 days for Aurora clients, what changes each month, and what I tell owners to realistically expect.
Why are the first 90 days different from every month after?
The first 90 days are about building the foundation that every later month runs on. A normal month with me is predictable: plan, produce, publish, respond, report. The first three months are not, because we are fixing what is broken, learning what your audience responds to, and building a content library from zero.
If you want to see what a steady month looks like once everything is running, I broke that down in Social Media Marketing Agency in Aurora, CO: What It Actually Does. This post is about the ramp.
What is the 90-day timeline at a glance?
The 90 days break into three phases, each with a clear finish line.
- Days 1 to 30, foundation: onboarding, account access, a full audit, Google Business Profile cleanup, and a written strategy.
- Days 31 to 60, rhythm: content production at full speed, weekly Google Business Profile posts, and daily community management.
- Days 61 to 90, proof: the first full report, a content mix adjustment based on real data, and a plan for the next quarter.
What happens in month one?
Month one is onboarding and repair, and most of it happens before your first new post goes live.
- Onboarding video call. We cover your services, your best customers, your busy and slow seasons, and what you never want posted.
- Access and housekeeping. Meta Business Suite, Instagram, LinkedIn, and your Google Business Profile.
- The audit. Profiles, bios, links, past content, reviews, and competitors in your part of Aurora.
- The fix list. Broken links, outdated hours, missing services, old photos.
- The strategy. Platforms, content pillars, posting cadence, and what we will measure.
The audit almost always finds the same two problems. In my last 20 free social media audits for Colorado businesses, 18 had a stale Google Business Profile, and nearly 60% had generic or ineffective content. So month one fixes the profile first. Google's own local ranking guidance says businesses "with complete and accurate info are more likely to show up in local search results." That is the cheapest win in the whole 90 days.
What happens in month two?
Month two is when the machine starts running on a steady schedule. On my Essentials package, that means about 12 finished pieces of content a month, published on the platforms we picked, plus a Google Business Profile post every week.
You send raw photos and video. I turn them into posts, captions, and graphics, schedule them, and handle the comments and messages. If your phone camera roll is thin, a content media day fills the library fast.
The weekly Google Business Profile posts matter more than most owners think. Google describes posts as a way to "share announcements, offers, updates, and event details directly with your customers on Search and Maps," and its Business Profile help page notes that posts older than six months are archived. A profile with nothing new looks closed.
Month two is also when we start working your reviews. BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey found 74% of consumers look for reviews written in the last three months, and 89% expect owners to respond. Responding to every review becomes part of community management, not an afterthought.
What happens in month three?
Month three is when you get your first report with enough data to mean something. One month of posting is a guess. Two months starts to show patterns.
The first report answers three questions:
- What did people actually engage with? Which formats, topics, and faces got saves, shares, and comments.
- Where did people take action? Profile visits, website clicks, calls, direction requests, and messages.
- What changes next quarter? More of what worked, less of what did not, and any platform shift.
Platform shifts are common here. The Pew Research Center's 2025 social media fact sheet found 84% of U.S. adults use YouTube, 71% use Facebook, 50% use Instagram, and 37% use TikTok. Those are national numbers. Your first 60 days of data show where your customers actually are.
What results are realistic by day 90?
By day 90, realistic results are consistency, a clean and active Google Business Profile, and early engagement trends, not a sales explosion.
Here is what I tell owners to expect, and what not to:
- Realistic by day 90: accurate profiles, three months of steady posting, every review answered, a clear read on your best content, and a few early wins.
- Not realistic by day 90: viral reach, a full calendar from social alone, or a follower count that doubles because we started posting.
The results my clients are proudest of did not show up in month one. For one custom pool builder I manage, TikTok views doubled to 36,000, engagement rose 507.6%, and followers grew 616.7% in the 90 days from June 19 to September 16, 2026. For an outdoor kitchen builder, Facebook views doubled to 212,000 in 2025, up 100.9% from 2024, with engagement up 51%. Both came from months of consistent posting that built on each other.
"The first 90 days are not about going viral. They are about showing up every single week so that when your customer finally goes looking, you look open, active, and trustworthy. The numbers owners get excited about come after that foundation is built, and that is why most of my clients stay two years or more." How does being in Aurora change the first 90 days?
Aurora is big and spread out, so local content has to be specific about where you serve. The City of Aurora estimates 399,913 residents in 2023, making it Colorado's third-largest city, and it stretches across Arapahoe, Adams, and Douglas counties.
That means a dentist near the Anschutz Medical Campus and a boutique near Southlands Town Center are talking to very different neighbors. In month one, I map exactly which parts of Aurora, and which nearby cities like Centennial and Parker, you want customers from. Then your content, Google Business Profile service areas, and local hashtags match that map.
I live in the Southlands area, so in-person content days for Aurora clients are easy to schedule.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to see results from a social media manager?
Expect a cleaner, more consistent presence within 30 to 60 days and meaningful engagement trends around day 90. The bigger numbers, like doubled views, usually come after several months of steady posting.
What do I need to provide during onboarding?
Account access, an onboarding video call, and a steady supply of raw photos and video. I handle everything else.
Why do you fix the Google Business Profile first?
Because it is where people who are ready to buy find you, and it is usually the most neglected. In my last 20 audits of Colorado businesses, 18 had a stale Google Business Profile.
How many posts will I get in the first 90 days?
On the Essentials package, about 12 finished pieces of content a month plus a weekly Google Business Profile post.
Is there a contract?
Essentials is a 12-month commitment. Ninety days is the ramp, not the finish line, and most of my clients stay two years or more.
Should an Aurora business post on TikTok and YouTube?
Only if your customers are there, and the first 60 days of data help decide. Essentials does not include YouTube or TikTok, so we add them only if the data says it is worth it.
